Sangeres Karla du Plessis is nie op almal se lippe nie, maar hier is ietsie oor haar
Karla du Plessis is die jongste dogter van die Suid-Afrikaanse sanger en liedjieskrywer Koos du Plessis.
Koos du Plessis het die lied Karla oor haar gesing. Sy is nou self een van die bekendste sangeresse en liedjieskrywers van die Afrikaanse musiekbedryf.
Op haar eerste twee albums sing sy liedjies van haar vader. Op die album “Woordeloos” sing sy saam met haar vader “As jy my kon volg” waar die stemme digitaal saamgestel is.
Saam met Theuns Jordaan sing sy die lied “Wie weet” wat die temalied van die TV program Jopie Adam was.
Vir haar derde album “Steeds op vrye voet” is sy bekroon as die beste album deur ‘n sangeres.

Immergroen Juanita du Plessis het geen bekendstelling nodig nie, maar hier is ‘n paar goedjies wat jy dalk nie geweet het nie
Die blinkste ster aan die Suid-Afrikaanse musiek-uitspansel is ons eie Platinum prinses, Juanita du Plessis. Sy is lank reeds gekroon as ons land se top Afrikaanse vroue-kunstenaar en sy gaan nie gou van haar kroon afstand doen nie.
Juanita se roemryke loopbaan het in 1998 afgeskop met haar debuut-album “Juanita” . In dieselfde jaar wen sy verskeie toekennings en dit was toe reeds duidelik dat Juanita se liedjies wèrk! Na baie gebede en wag verskyn haar tweede album “Ek en jy”, Ska-Rumba was die bonussnit.

You know this singer, Dozi, here are a few ‘tit-bits’ you didn’t know
Dozi (born Hendrik Opperman on March 23, 1964) is a South African singer known for cultural boundaries for his Afrikaans, English and Zulu performances. His hits include: Old Rider (A Recording), Between You and Me, Just Stand A Little Style and Maybe My Baby.
Dozi was born in Hluhluwe in Natal and started singing at an early age. In 1999 his first album, “Mercy”, was released. The album was recorded in Zulu. His second album, “Op aanvraag”, is published in Afrikaans in 2001.
Dozi is a South African musician who first became popularly known through the television show Noot Vir Noot (Note For Note).
He’s subsequently hosted and performed in a show of his own entitled Kom ‘n Bietjie Binne (Come In For A Bit) and is also known for being a celebrity coach on the second and third seasons of the reality talent show Supersterre.
Since the age of 12 Dozi has been performing on stage, singing and playing guitar.

The professional singing career of Charlie Dicks started in 1982 with the recording of a former known seven single. A long player soon followed, as did an invitation to share the stage with several well known South African artists at the Windhoek show. Hard work followed and slowly but surely the music industry took note of this new artist whose popularity with audiences increased.
In 1986 she was heard on the country hit parade for the first time with her hit song “Medals for mothers”. Several other hits like “Green to Blue”, “Walking piece of heaven” and “It’s a lovely lovely world” followed which firmly placed her foot in the door of the South African music industry.
Charlie made her television debut in the music programme “Sing Country”, which led to invitations to star in similar programmes as, Music-a-la-Carte, Uit die pluiskuil, TV 4 Special and the popular Noot-vir-Noot. Later i

Here is a ‘short’ Bio of Coenie de Villiers, somethings you may not have known
Coenraad Grabe (Coenie) de Villiers was born in Bloemfontein on October 11, 1956.
Coenie de Villiers has changed the landscape of South African music and in particular Afrikaans music over the past 40 years.
His first recording (an own composition for EMI and released in 1978/9) won a SARIE Award and the originality of the song foreshadowed what has become one of the most radical and important creative careers in South African music.
His career has subsequently spanned nearly four decades and nearly 20 albums of his own material, garnered three SAMA awards and numerous other accolades, including the medal of honour by the South African Council of Arts and Sciences. His creative work and recordings have been banned by the previous regime, but he has consistently broken down barriers in the face of adversity and shunned commercial credit in the process.

Jak de Priester is ‘n Afrikaanse sanger en skrywer. Hy is in 2002 deur die ATKV as wenner van die Crescendo-sangkompetisie aangewys. Van sy treffers sluit in: Sally Williams Nougat en Groen Mamba. Hy het ook die temalied van KykNET se sepie, Binnelanders geskryf en gesing.
Jak de Priester (’n skuilnaam – Jaco Papenfus/Jaco Voster (nie seker nie) is in Parys in die Vrystaat gebore, waar hy sy laerskoolopleiding aan die Laerskool H.F. Verwoerd ondergaan en op die hoërskool op die dorp matrikuleer. Na skool studeer hy eers drama aan die Universiteit van Pretoria, maar skakel dan oor na gewone B.A.-studies. Hy verwerf ’n B.A.-graad en Hoër Onderwysdiploma, met Duits en Frans as onderrigvakke.
Hierna spandeer hy tyd in Londen in Engeland, waar hy woon en vir twee jaar onderwys gee in Frans en Duits. Tydens ’n vakansie in Europa raak hy betrokke in kinderteater in Nederland en woon vir ’n ruk in Purmerend in Amsterdam, waar hy saam met

Dawie Couzyn, gehoor van hom, wel hy was ‘n bekende sanger en ‘n liedjieskrywer
Mauritz David Wilhelmus (Dawie) Couzyn is op 27 Junie 1925 in Pretoria gebore en matrikuleer op Pietersburg.
Dawie Couzyn (1925–2010) was ‘n Suid-Afrikaanse sanger en skrywer. Hy verwerf bekendheid as internasionale operasanger (bariton), maar keer in die 1970’s op ‘n permanente basis na Suid-Afrika terug. Hy was ’n solis van die Weense Kämmeroper en het gereeld aan programme van die BBC in Londen en Radio Wien deelgeneem. As skrywer is hy bekend vir sy digkuns. Hy het ook talle gewilde liedjies vir Afrikaanse kinders saam met die sopraan Doris Brasch opgeneem.
Vir twaalf jaar lank is hy joernalis en hy stig selfs en is redakteur van die sosialistiese Afrikaanse tydskrif Die nuwe stem in Johannesburg, wat tot niet gaan net voor die 1948 verkiesings. Gedurende hierdie tyd neem hy as bariton sangles in Pretoria by die bekende skrywer Stella Blakemore en later in Johannesburg onder Margaret Roux, Bruce Anderson en veral Olga Ryss.</
